Award-winning South African R&B singer Kaylow is recovering in hospital after surviving another serious car accident.
The Soul Café hitmaker confirmed the incident on social media, saying the crash occurred in the early hours of Saturday, October 18, 2025, while he was driving home from the studio in Ruimsig, north of Johannesburg, to his family in Tshwane.
“In the early hours of Saturday, October 18, 2025, while driving home from the studio in Ruimsig to my family in Pretoria, I was unfortunately involved in a car accident caused by a tyre blowout on the N1 near Beyers Naudé,” Kaylow said in a statement on his Instagram story.
“This incident led to a loss of control, resulting in a crash that has rendered the vehicle a total loss.”
The singer, whose real name is Kelello Segoana, added that he is currently recovering in hospital and remains in good spirits.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all my fans and the public for their concern and support,” he said.
Messages of encouragement have since flooded social media, with fans wishing him a speedy recovery.
This marks the second time Kaylow has been involved in a car accident. In September 2024, he was hospitalised following a separate crash. His management at the time confirmed the incident and thanked fans for their concern, noting that he was “on the mend and surrounded by loved ones.”
Born in Soweto, Kaylow gained fame for his smooth vocals and soulful lyrics. He began recording in 2009 and gained recognition through Darque’s Difference in London. His 2014 debut album Reach Out, featuring the hit single The Soul Café, established him as a standout voice in South African R&B.
His 2021 single 24 Hours and 2017 album War for Love further cemented his place in the industry, with the latter earning him the Best Male Vocalist award at South Africa’s inaugural Dance Music Awards.
