Grammy award-winning DJ Black Coffee has appealed to the public to respect the privacy of his children following his divorce from actress Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.
The South African DJ, whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphumulo, took to his social media timeline on Friday to address ongoing public discussions surrounding his family.
“I understand that you people believe everything you read and that’s fine. As a father, I have one request. Please stop posting [about] my children on your socials,” he wrote.
His statement came shortly after his ex-wife, Enhle Mbali, reflected on their long and highly publicised divorce process, which she filed for in 2019.
In her post, Enhle announced that she is now officially Miss Mlotshwa and expressed gratitude for the lessons learned throughout what she described as an “ugly journey.”
“I’m so grateful for this ugly journey that gave me so many lessons. Today God has laid a table for me. I am thankful to the people you see in this image. These lawyers, advocates, and senior attorneys have pushed me and reminded me of the greatness I had in me, reminded me how important it was to fight, and most importantly for my children and more so for the rights of women in South Africa,” she wrote.
She also extended appreciation to her family, particularly her mother and sisters, for their support during the difficult period.
“I would like to thank my mother, who took this journey on her shoulders as if it were her own; she felt every emotion I felt more intensely, as I refused to sink myself back into depression. She held space. Thank you, mom,” she said.
Enhle also praised her sisters for standing by her through the legal process. “My sister Mskutty Molete, who even after her operation was in court with me holding my hand when I was holding back tears, and my elder sister, always ready to fight for me and ask questions later — I love you,” she wrote.
She further thanked her close friends for their prayers and discretion, saying none of her private matters had ever been leaked to the media.
“Thank you for keeping me strong behind the scenes with all the late-night calls and prayer nights at my house with the preacher. Nothing of my intimate life has ever spilt out onto media, and I’m grateful to have true friends who I know I can trust with my life,” Enhle added.
She concluded by expressing gratitude to God, Jesus, her angels, and ancestors for giving her strength throughout the ordeal.
