The African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) has urged members of the executive to undergo lifestyle audits, starting with the President. The resolution was made during the party’s top leadership meeting last weekend.
The call is part of broader efforts to renew the organisation and government. ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula said, “The President leading the executive must start ensuring that lifestyle audits apply across the civil service … but you cannot enforce a lifestyle audit in a department if you are a political leader and yet yourself you have not undergone lifestyle audits.”
He added that lifestyle audits should begin with the President and all Cabinet members, and also be implemented in all provinces.
